EURORDIS Open Academy expands language offerings
The EURORDIS Open Academy is proud to announce the expansion of its e-learning courses to offer programmes in Spanish, French, Italian, German and Polish, further extending its reach and impact to empower patient advocates from diverse linguistic communities!
Presently, eight courses are available in French and ten in Spanish, with plans to launch ten courses in each of the five languages by the end of the year. This expansion underlines Open Academy’s continued dedication to inclusivity and accessibility, to build a more informed rare disease community.
Setting the bar for patient empowerment
The EURORDIS Open Academy provides specialised training on rare diseases, empowering patient advocates with the tools to effectively engage with stakeholders and advocate for their communities. Our Schools adopt a blended learning approach, incorporating e-learning courses, webinars, and in-person training. This multifaceted methodology ensures that advocates receive a well-rounded education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to act as equal partners in the healthcare landscape.
Our online courses have been developed with subject matter experts, including researchers and patient experts, and are regularly updated to ensure the best learning experience and provide the latest information on all subject areas. The new e-learning courses have been translated with the invaluable help of our dedicated volunteer rare disease advocates, who have meticulously proofread each translated course.
Over the years, the effectiveness of our training approach has been evident in the achievements of our alumni, who have gone on to make significant contributions to the rare disease community across a variety of contexts.
