Unit 1: Medical Research and Development


Many aspects of medical research is all about problem solving and asking the right questions. In this unit, you will be able to learn more about the medicines discovery process, preclinical testing, clinical trials, as well as methodology and statistics used in medicines development such as evidence based medicine, blinding and study protocol. There is also training on the development for medicines for small populations.

To complete this Unit, you need to read through all seven courses: Introduction, Study design, Controlled trial, Randomisation, Endpoints, Criteria of inclusion, and Analysis of results. You will see that each course is made up of five sub-sections: Lesson, Words, Case, Documents, and a short quiz.

At the end of the Unit, you will be able to print your “Certificate of Completion” once you have taken the self-evaluation quiz and Final quiz.
